Bike 4 Friendship is a team of dedicated individuals who will cycle 3,100 miles across America while raising funds for The Friendship Circle, an international organization dedicated to creating meaningful relationships and friendships between teen volunteers and children with special needs, increasing confidence, igniting dreams, and redefining worldviews for both parties.
Regardless of your cycling ability or connection to the Friendship Circle, Team Friendship is a great way to get a check on your bucket list - for an invaluable cause.
How fit do I need to be to participate?
You don't have to be fit at all! Anyone can cross the finish line by following our Coach's comprehensive training plan.
What is the distance of the ride?
The total ride distance is about 3,100 miles over 7 weeks., riding approximately 85 miles per day.
How long is the training plan?
Our training calendar is based on a 4-month-plan but depending on your fitness level, you could train in as short as 6 weeks or over the course of 6 months.

What type of gear do I need?
1. Road Bike - Your bicycle should be fitted with two water bottle cages 2. Proper fitting helmet 3. Two water bottles 4. Cycling Shoes (recommended) 5. Cycling Chamois 6. Front and back lights 7. Garmin Bike GPS
I'm coming from out of town, how do I bring my bicycle on the plane?
In order to transport your bicycle on the plane, you can either buy a case or go to any local bike shop and ask them for a free cardboard case for your bike. These are officially for one time use but they will be adequate for the flight. You can ask your local bike shop to pack your bicycle up for you.
There is a fee to transport your bicycle on an airplane. Depending on the airline, it could range around $50-$150:

Can I rent a bicycle?
Yes! Contact your local bike shop for rates.
What kind of training is provided by Team Friendship?
Team Friendship's expert triathlon coach will provide you with a personalized training plan as well as weekly training tips. Additionally, he is available for 1-on-1 coaching over the phone or via e-mail.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced cyclist, our coach will work with you to ensure you cross the finish line.

Do I have to pay to join?
There is a registration fee of $150 which will be applied to your fundraising goal. You will have the option to pay it or fundraise it within a week of registering. This is the only payment you will be required to make and it will count towards your fundraising goal! The rest of the participation is free provided that you complete your fundraising goal.
