The Philadelphia Marathon is a fast, scenic race known for its energetic crowds, historic backdrop, and runner-friendly course. Winding through iconic landmarks like Independence Hall, the Schuylkill River, and Fairmount Park, it offers a mostly flat route that’s ideal for both first-time marathoners and those chasing a personal best. With its crisp fall weather, strong community support, and well-organized race experience, the Philadelphia Marathon has become a favorite destination race for runners from across the country.

Upon registering, you'll receive a personal fundraising page (yay!). It's not your name on a building (yet), but it's still pretty cool.
You'll get a training plan from Coach Chaim, our very friendly and very dedicated coach. You'll also get Coach's weekly emails with training tips, tricks, and the occasional dad joke (we apologize in advance).
We'll send you a "Marathon in a Box", including a race day jersey, pre-race snacks, specialty Team Friendship swag, and some other goodies!

The Start line is located on 22nd Street and Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
Near the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Expect beautiful views through Fairmont Park and along the Schuylkill River and neighborhood residents cheering in University City and Manayunk. Weave through the well-traveled streets of the historic district, passing sights familiar to Franklin, Washington and the rest of the gang, and end your race speeding towards the steps of the majestic Art Museum.
Course check points will be at the 5K, 10K, 15K, 20K, 13.1 Miles, 25K, 30K and 40K marks, and fluid stations and spectator overlooks are set up throughout the course.
As you cross the finish line, MarathonFoto will take your picture and video. Keep your race number visible, look up, and smile!
Medical Aid will be available throughout the finish and post-finish areas.
