Our training calendar is based on a 4-month-plan but depending on your fitness level, you could train in as short as 6 weeks or over the course of 6 months.

What kind of training is provided by Team Friendship?
Team Friendship's expert triathlon coach will provide you with a personalized training plan as well as weekly training tips. Additionally, he is available for 1-on-1 coaching over the phone or via e-mail.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced runner, our coach will work with you to ensure you cross the finish line.
Do I have to pay to join?
** There is a one-time registration fee of $50 to confirm your spot. Please note that this fee is non-refundable, however, it will go towards your fundraising goal as your first donation!
In addition, you will be required to pay the New York Road Runner's registration fee. This fee is charged by NYRR upon acceptance of our registration invitation. The entry fee details are as follows: US Residents (those who live in the 50 United States or the District of Columbia) NYRR Members- $216 Non-members: $255 Non-US residents: $347
What is the fundraising commitment?
The minimum fundraising requirement is $3,500.
Is the fundraising difficult?
Team Friendship will provide you with multiple fundraising resources and weekly tips to ensure you reach your goal.
If you've never fundraised before, it could seem daunting but once you begin, you will see just how simple Team Friendship makes it for your to SURPASS your goal with ease.
Will there be places for my friends and family to cheer me on?
Absolutely! We will have cheering squads placed along the marathon route. Stay tuned for exact cheer squad location.
Will I need to register for the TCS NYC marathon on my own?
Once you’ve completed registration, Team Friendship will e-mail you an invitation to register on the New York Road Runners website. Please note that there is a unique code attached to the invitation, and this will automatically register you as a part of the team!
What happens if I don't reach my fundraising minimum?
Firstly, have some faith in yourself! We've seen time and time again that our participants surprise themselves with just how quickly they can reach their goal.
In order to ensure that your participation benefits the Friendship Circle, please understand our fundraising policy below:
* Participants will be required to reach 25% of their fundraising minimum 45 days prior to Race Day.
* Participants will be required to fundraise 100% of their fundraising minimum 10 days prior to the event.
* Participants will be required to put down a credit card number at the time of recommitment. This card will not be charge provided that they complete their fundraising goal before the minimum deadline.
* Participants will receive communication regarding the above deadlines
* Participants will be charged if they do not reach their fundraising minimum by the above deadlines. He/she can be refunded (minus credit card processing fees) provided that he/she completes his/her fundraising goal and contacts Team Friendship support with a reimbursement request within 30 days after the race.
What is Team Friendship's cancellation policy?
Due to the high demand for race entry to the TCS NYC Marathon, Team Friendship will allow for a 72 hour grace period to rescind registration.
After this time, registrants must find another runner to replace their entry.
Can I make a donation to a team?
Yes. You can make a donation to a runner on a team or you can make a general team donation.

Click on the home page and begin typing the first or last name. Your options will display as you type.
How quickly can I expect an online donation to post to a participant's fundraising account?
Any donation made online should post immediately. If an online donation does not post within 5 minutes, please contact us.
What happens if I check the checkbox to "cover processing fees"?
If you check this checkbox, you will be charged the amount indicated next to the checkbox. This amount will also be visible to the non-profit. However, on the fundraising page, your intended - initial donation amount will be displayed.
Are donations tax-deductible?
All monetary donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
For Canadian donations made online with a credit card, will the amount entered be in U.S. dollars?
Yes. For Canadian donations made online with a credit card, the amount entered in the online donation form will be in U.S. dollars.
Do all donors who mail their donations receive a receipt?
Any donor who mailed their donation and provided an address will receive a receipt via mail once the donation has been processed. If you made your donation in installments, you will receive a receipt each time a monthly payment is processed.
Do all donors who contribute online receive a receipt?
Yes, anyone who donates online, regardless of the amount, will receive a receipt via email.

How do I add a dedication when I make a donation?
When you make a donation online, you can designate what you want to appear as your recognition name on the participant's Honor Roll. This may be your name, or it could be something such as "From the whole Wolf family" or "in memory of Aunt Cathy."
What can I do if a check is written out to me personally?
If a donation check has been written out to you personally, you may endorse the back of the check and mail it in with a completed donation form to Friendship Circle International.
Can I mail in a cash donation?
It is not a good idea to send a cash donation in the mail. You may drop off the cash at Friendship Circle International along with your information or you can deposit the cash into your checking account and send a personal check from your account.

Can I enter a check online?
To have an offline donation show up on your page, please follow the easy step by step instructions below! 1. SIGN IN to your account and once you are on your HQ page, on the left hand side, (under your personalized logo), you will see an option which reads "enter offline donation". Click that and fill in the information. 2. MAIL your cash/checks to: Team Friendship 816 Eastern Parkway Brooklyn, NY 11213 3. Once we receive your check/cash, we will verify it right away and it will show up towards your goal. **Please note all checks must be made out to Friendship Circle International.**
A donor is requesting a Tax ID number; what is that and how can I get it?
A Tax ID number identifies Friendship Circle International as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Many donors will request this number to validate their donation as tax-deductible. The Friendship Circle International Tax ID number is 27-1827441.
Not all of my donors are showing up in the Honor Roll. Why?
As your donors make a contribution, they have the option of whether or not they want to appear in the Honor Roll.
Where can I find a list of the people who have donated to me?
Log in with your email and password to visit your headquarters page. Select ‘My Fundraising Report on the left side. You will then find a list of all of your donors as well as a list of all donors to your team .
How can I send a thank you email to my donors?
To easily send thank-you emails to donors, follow these steps:
Log in to your fundraiser dashboard by clicking the "My HQ" link in the top right
Click "My Fundraising Report" in the left sidebar
Locate the donor/donation you'd like to thank, and click "Send Email" (If the donor didn't submit their email address, this option is unavailable.)
Type the message in the pop-up window, and click "Send Email"
Why am I receiving emails telling me that I've received a donation?
You are receiving these emails because we would like to keep you updated on your fundraising efforts. If you wish to stop receiving these updates, please login to your headquarters and edit your account preferences.
What is my personal page URL?
A personal URL is a shortened link to your team or personal page that you can send to friends and family in emails. A personal URL will look like this https://www.teamfriendship.org/ny/ben.
Can a donor add a dedication message that appears in my fundraising honor roll?
When a donor makes a donation online, s/he can enter text to appear on the fundraising honor roll. This may be the donor's name, or it could be something like "From the whole Wolf family" or "In Memory of Aunt Cathy".
