Thanks for Stopping By!

“Toleration is the greatest gift of the mind; it requires the same effort of the brain that it takes to balance oneself on a bicycle.” Helen Keller

This page could go on about how much I love cycling, the wonders of cycling, and how much fun this trip will be. Although, this may be evidenced by the mere fact that I signed up for a six-week bike trip across the continental United States. But I don’t think this is about the cycling, per se.

You see, I have done a bit of cycling, and even cycling with The Friendship Circle. But there must be something special, something extraordinary, that would compel one to commit to riding a bike for five hours a day, six days a week, for six weeks. That’s not including the training.

Which brings us to the true reason for this: the kids. We will do our ride, spread our awareness, and bang out those social media posts, but all said and done, who will this ride leave a mark on most come winter? I dare say, the children themselves. If someone told me that a group of boys were going to take off their summer to ride their bikes across the U.S. to benefit my condition, I would burst into tears.

And with that, I invite you, to join me in my journey. To help make it happen for those kids less fortunate. To raise the flag about treating different people differently, as opposed to equals. To raise the bar about what it means to be tolerant, especially to those less fortunate. And to bring out the friendship in Friendship Circle.
